There will be no Sussex Branches Beer & Cider Festival in 2020; hopefully back in 2021!.


14 March 2016: Programme available for download

A low resolution PDF version of the 2016 Festival Programme (1.45mb, 24 pages) is now available to download.

Some final changes to the beer list are reflected here and the QR version of the beer list has also been updated (but, like last year, will not have any 'live' updates from the festival.

Finally, a reminder that advance sales officially ended on Friday 11 March (although you may still find tickets at our pub outlets before we get around to collect them). Don't despair: a minimum of 150 tickets for each session available on the door, 20 minutes after the start of each session.


11 March 2016: Ticket press release

As usual, tickets for the Friday night session of the 26th Sussex Beer and Cider Festival have all been sold. But there will be a minimum of 150 tickets for each session available on the door, 20 minutes after the start of each session.

The ticket price includes a souvenir glass and programme. Card-carrying CAMRA members can also obtain beer tokens worth £2 at the CAMRA membership stand. If you join CAMRA on the day, you will also receive £2 beer tokens and a copy of the Good Beer Guide.

  • Saturday 12.00 noon – 8.00pm* £8

7 March 2016: Beer, cider and perry lists now online

Did you know that are nearly 11,000 real ales brewed in the United Kingdom?

Not all of them will be available at the 26th Sussex Beer & Cider Festival to be held at the Corn Exchange, Church Street, Brighton on the 17-19 March 2016.

But there will an excellent selection of nearly 170 beers on sale from breweries all over the country, ranging from IPAs, milds, best bitters, golden ales and speciality beers.

Cider and perry drinkers are not forgotten as there will be an excellent range available.

Tickets are still on sale at the Evening Star, Brighton; Gardener’s Arms, Lewes; Duke of Wellington, Shoreham-by-Sea; Selden Arms, Worthing; and Beer Essentials, Horsham.

16 February 2016: Sussex breweries to be well represented

There are nearly 60 breweries in Sussex and they will be well represented at the 26th Sussex Beer & Cider Festival due to be held at the Corn Exchange, Church Street, Brighton on the 17 – 19 March 2016.

Real ales from Sussex breweries such as 360 Degrees, Sheffield Park: Black Cat, Framfield: Crooked Brook, Copthorne Greyhound,West Chiltington: Gun, Heathfield: Naked Beer,Lancing: and Heathen, Haywards Heath but an excellent selection will be on sale from breweries all over the country with nearly 160 available. Cider and perry drinkers will also be guaranteed a good selection.

Tickets are selling well and are on sale at the Evening Star, Brighton; Gardener’s Arms, Lewes; Duke of Wellington, Shoreham-by-Sea; Selden Arms, Worthing; and Beer Essentials, Horsham.

For postal sales, please state which session(s) you require and enclose a 9 x 4 SAE with your cheque, made payable to “Sussex CAMRA Beer & Cider Festival” and send to SBB&CF Ticket Sales, 16 Connell Drive, Woodingdean, Brighton, BN2 6RT. No refunds will be processed after the 9 March 2016.

21 January 2016: Staffing forms now online

The new 2016 staffing forms have been added to the website today.

As with last year, completed forms should be submitted via email only (our staffing officer is based overseas).

Please note the submission deadline (for ordering t-shirts) is 7 February 2016.


8 January 2016: Correction

Please note that, for the past couple of days, our Tickets page has incorrectly stated that the price of the Friday evening session ticket was £8. It is in fact £9, as per the press release below.

If submitting a postal application, please take care to send the correct amount.


28 December 2015: Press release

The 26th Sussex Beer & Cider Festival will be held at the Corn Exchange, Brighton, the same venue as the 25th Festival, on the 17th March – 19th March. There will be a similar selection to last year of real ales, ciders, perries and bottled beers from Britain and abroad.

The festival sessions with ticket prices are:

  • Thursday evening 5pm – 11pm £9
  • Friday lunchtime 11am – 3pm £5
  • Friday evening 5pm – 11pm £9
  • Saturday 12am – 8pm† £8
  • Saturday – Door only 3.30pm – 8pm† £3 (Only with valid NUS ID)
    (or until the beer runs out if earlier)

Advance tickets will be on sale from the 11th January until the 11th March at: Evening Star, Brighton; Beer Essentials, Horsham; Gardeners Arms, Lewes; Duke of Wellington, Shoreham; Selden Arms, Worthing. To apply by post send a 9 x 4 SAE to SCBCF 16 Connell Drive, Woodingdean, Brighton BN2 6RT stating which session tickets are for and making cheques/POs payable to CAMRA Sussex Beer Festival. No advance tickets will be available for the NUS only Saturday tickets. No refunds will be processed after 9th March.

Tickets for the festival always sell very quickly, therefore to avoid disappointment on the day it is advisable to buy tickets for all the sessions; however a minimum of 150 tickets for each session will be available for purchase on the door 20 minutes after the start of each session.

The ticket price includes a festival programme and a souvenir glass. CAMRA members will receive £2 worth of beer tokens on production of their membership card at the Membership Stall.

As last year there will be no entertainment or Trade Session and no under-18s will be allowed in the hall. ID wristbands will be issued to all attendees.

This year the festival charity will be SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) Sussex.

The Corn Exchange has full disabled facilities and is well served by public transport.

December 2015: Advance press release

The 26th Sussex CAMRA Branches Beer & Cider Festival will once again be held at the Corn Exchange, Church Street, Brighton BN1 1UE from Thursday 17 to Saturday 19 March 2016.

As always an excellent selection of real ales, ciders and perries will be available.

Tickets go on sale from the 11 January to Friday 11 March from the following outlets: Evening Star, Brighton; Gardener’s Arms, Lewes; Duke of Wellington, Shoreham-by-Sea; Selden Arms, Worthing; and Beer Essentials, Horsham.
