August 2001: Chris (The Blonde Man)

Q4 - Chris enjoying himself in The Lucerna Q6 - No rush to go back, but he seemed to be enjoying it at the time! Q12 - Not Chris's favourite shirt Q18 - The best pub in Glasgow? Not according to Chris

1. First home match?
It would have been in the mid-80's but can't remember!! Qualifiers for Euro '88 (Holland)

2. Best away trip?
My first one - in Prague ('99) - when my friend, wee Del, and me had the (unfortunate??) experience of meeting the Netley Boys (and Helen). The first night we met in the Irish pub (Molly Malones) whilst looking for a match ticket for Del and it all took off from there!!

3. Best foreign stadium visited?
Certainly wasn't that effort the Sammaresi knocked up for the Scotland game last October!! Not really been to that many so can't really comment!

4. Best foreign pub/club visited?
Has to be Lucerna in Prague. One look at me with Susanna (the Czech girl) in the photo gallery will tell you why it was the best foreign club I've been to!!

5. Is there anywhere you have seen Scotland play that you would like to go back to?
Prague!! - see above!

6. Where have you have seen Scotland play that you would NOT like to return to?
San Marino! Staying in Rimini, out of season, for 4 days isn't ideal. It meant however, that Rich had enough time on his hands to actually finish a story!!!

7. And where do you want to go to (but haven't yet)?
Lots of places!! Would like to go back to Eastern Europe. Would love to see them playing in Spain.

8. Who's the best Scottish player that you have actually seen?
The late, great Davie Cooper.

9. Who's the best opposing player you have actually seen?
Paul Scholes. Sorry!!!!!

10. Who would you most like to see succeed Craig Brown?
Alex Ferguson, but unlikely. Need a high calibre Scot like George Graham.

11. Favourite Scottish home and away kits of all time?
Home - the Tartan one a few years ago
Away - the white one with the big red/blue zig-zag across it from early 90's

12. … And your least favourite?
The yellow away one for Mexico '86 - Sorry Helen!!

13. What is your favourite and least favourite Scotland chant/song?
Favourite: Flower of Scotland-when the whole stadium or street is PASSIONATELY singing it.
Least favourite: "Doe a Deer". But only because it's the most difficult to remember when pissed!!

14. Which have been the highest and lowest points of supporting Scotland?
Lowest - Euro '96 after losing to England at Wembley.
Highest - As a Hampden Ballboy, leading the teams out onto the pitch whilst carrying the Scotland flag. Can't remember the game but look at your videos for season 90/91 and you'll see me standing behind Andy Goram during the Anthem!!

15. Favourite domestic stadium?
Ibrox

16. Best domestic match ever attended?
Motherwell/ Dundee United Scottish Cup Final 91. I was Ballboy behind the goals at Rangers end, sorry Paul, West end, of Hampden. It was one of the most exciting games ever seen. It finished 4-3 to Motherwell with Davie Cooper the star of the show.

17. Favourite chant/song heard at a domestic match?
"He's got a pineapple on his head" With reference to Jason Lee of Notts Forest a few years ago.

18. Best domestic pub/club?
Probably one in the City centre of Glasgow, but I'm not fussy!!
Worst domestic pub?  The Scotia bar!!!! Dark and dreary old man's pub!! Personally, I think it's got as much character as a kick in the balls!!

19. What pisses you off?
Not having a girlfriend!

20. And what makes you chuckle?
Paul dancing (rarity). It looks like he is trying to stir a huge pot of stew!!

21. You're stranded on a remote island in the Hebrides. Before the ship went down you managed to salvage some belongings (to help you pass the time until you're rescued) including…
1 book? Would have to be an Investments text-book because they are all I have read over the past year.
1 magazine? The one under my bed!!! No, seriously, probably either FHM, or The Economist
1 album? Dido or Texas - The Greatest Hits, or maybe even Travis
1 film? Dumb and Dumber
1 beer? Staropramen
1 spirit? Probably Southern Comfort, even though I don't drink it that much!
And 1 famous member of the opposite sex ?  Cat Deeley
