Third Division no more!!!
31st May 2009: After some unbelievable
luck heading into the final games, Fortuna left themselves
needing to better Paderborn and Unterhaching's results
on the final day of the season last Saturday to ensure
promotion. Despite looking shaky at times, and Bremen
reserves hitting the bar, Fortuna held on to an early
lead (from a lucky cross-shot goal from Marco Christ)
to clinch a one-nil victory in front of over 50,000
fans.
The gallery page for the Bremen
II game has been uploaded with pictures of the game,
the celebrations afterwards and the presentation the
following day. Now all we need to do is await next season's
fixture list...
10th May 2009: The business end of
the season is here, and after the unglaublich
5-5 draw at Braunschweig today, it's a shoot-out between
Fortuna, Paderborn and Unterhaching for the second promotion
place and the play-off spot in third, with us sitting
as outsiders at the moment.
You can probably tell I wasn't in Braunschweig by virtue
of this update, but we were over for last week's win
against Dynamo Dresden,
and took in the reserves trip to Bonn
the following day - photos for both are now online.
I've also added some links to the Links
page, including some live-ticker feeds, in case
the f95.de site isn't working (like today!) and the
MaXxed forums (thanks to Tancred!).
We're travelling back over (en masse) for the final
league game at home to Werder Bremen II, and hopefully
for the play-offs, if it comes to that. Bear in mind
the play-off dates could change (from 28th & 31st
May) if Gladbach also finish in a play-off position
in Bundesliga 1.
Cheers, Paul
16th March 2009: We're back! No excuses
- I've just been slack - but, in the meantime, we've
been to four games, so check out photos from the home
games against Bayern II, Aalen and Stuttgarter Kickers,
plus the trip to Union Berlin.
There's been some other changes too: About
This Site now goes some way to explaining why Paul
is a Fortuna fan, and all of the previous updates have
now been swept onto their own page here.
And I promise to update more frequently in future too
- honest!
30th September 2008: Okay, it's been
a while, but that's partly the fault of getting across
to four games already. It's been a mixed start for Fortuna,
with a rude awakening at home to relegated Paderborn
(1-4), but a couple of good away wins (including the
4-0 demolition of Burghausen)
have provided a springboard. Also included in this update
are photos from the 0-0 draw at home to Unterhaching
and a few from the exceptionally lucky away win in Aue.
We've got trips planned for the Bayern II and Aalen
home matches, as well as Union Berlin away, all before
Christmas. After then, it's anyone's guess given how
shaky the economy is right now...
28th June 2008: So close yet so far!
At least we've a new nationwide league to look forward
to next season, but the bad news is that we're still
as far from the Bundesliga as we were a year ago! AnywayI
know it's been a while, but photos from the home wins
against RW Oberhausen,
BVB Reserves
and Babelsberg
have now been added. The only other thing to add today
ahead of the Euro 2008 final is...
Viel Glück Deutschland!
8 March 2008: Photos from the great
home wins against Wuppertal
and Cottbus Reserves
are now online.
20 January 2008: No fewer than 4 galleries
have now been added (covering Braunschweig
and Union Berlin
at home, plus Magdeburg
and RWE away).
And as an apology for not updating for so long, and
partially due to a request from Andy in Australia, we
can also bring you a range of Fortuna-themed wallpapers
to download and customise your PC with.
28 November 2007: An update is coming
soon - honest! Pressure of work (and Scotland games)
have kept me away from most Fortuna games, but photos
from the Magdeburg and Braunschweig games are coming
soon (as well as the Union Berlin home and Essen away
matches).
30 August 2007: Another away game,
another away game, this time in Cottbus.
Spitzenreiter, Spitzenreiter...
12 August 2007: What a start to the
season? The draw with Essen aside, two away games have
brought maximum points, despite conceding (and saving)
two penalties and having a player sent off in both games!
What's more, both wins have reversed long-standing trends
(first opening day win in 13 years; first away win in
Wuppertal for 34 years!). We were lucky enough to visit
both Union Berlin
and Wuppertal
- whisper it, but things are looking good...
23 June 2007: A little late, but pics
from the Kiel
defeat and the final game against Gladbach
are now up. Coming soon: a review of the season (not
good!), and more updates.
29 April 2007: Pics from a pair of
defeats to Berlin teams are now online, as Fortuna's
bad run continues.
20 March 2007: Photos from Magdeburg
and the home defeat to Wuppertal
now online. Next planned game: Hertha on Easter Saturday.

March 2007: An epic game with Dresden
and a very strange day, with a lot of publicity generated
for this website thanks to a Fortuna Aktuelle article
and a pitchside interview - all thanks to a mix-up over
a match ticket (I'll explain in a few weeks)! Anyway,
many thanks to everyone who's taken the time to email,
and maybe I'll see some of you at Magdeburg or the WSV
home game?
Jan/Feb
2007: The website may have taken a breather,
but I've somehow managed to clock up no less than 7
games before the winter break and one immediately afterwards.
See the scores on the Matches
page or check out the photos.
August
2006: Welcome to F95.co.uk, a brand-new (and
still work in progress!) unofficial website for English-speaking
fans of Fortuna Düsseldorf. This is in no way connected
to the excellent (but German-only) site at www.F95.de
Over the
coming weeks and months we hope to grow the site by
bringing you info on the club and their opponents, photos
and reports of games we've been to, travel tips and
any other useful info that we can provide.
